How good are you at determining the sex of the baby?

At 14 weeks we can determine the gender with a very high accuracy. Please make sure you are 14 weeks and 0 days minimum. Our trained sonographer has 10 years of experience doing this. If you are over 14 weeks and the gender can not be seen, we invite you back for a weekday return appointment and we will rescan you for free within the next 14 days. The need for a return visit however is very rare and is usually due to the baby's position, placenta location or moms body type.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective procedure. We do not perform any medical procedures such as measurements, weight, or anatomy scans. This does not replace the scans that your doctor will order

Why should I choose a facility with registered sonographers?

While there are many facilities to choose from in Arizona there are few that have sonographers that are certified by the ARDMS, which is a standard requirement for any sonographer in a doctors office or hospital. Our registered sonographer is trained to practice safe ultrasound scanning techniques to ensure proper equipment usage and to follow all FDA guidelines for ultrasound.

What is your facility like?

We pride ourselves on being an inviting, relaxing, comfortable, and spacious environment for you and your family. We are also located in an up-scale retail location rather than sterile looking office buildings.

What is the difference between a 3D and 4D ultrasound? What is 5D Hd live?

3d is a still image while 4D adds the dimension of motion so it looks like a video. 5d Hd live gives an even more detailed look at your baby by adding more depth and realism to the image.

When should I arrive for my appointment time?

Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled time. This will ensure enough time to check in and guarantee enough time for your scheduled package. We may have to reschedule or cut your scan short if you are more than 10 minutes late and you will also forfeit your free rescan if included. There is no need to arrive more than 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

What if I want the gender to be a secret for my gender reveal?

No problem! We can turn of the screens for a minute while we discreetly determine your baby's gender and place it into a sealed envelope. You will still get to see your baby but we will avoid that area when the screens are on. We recommend booking your gender scan at least a few days before your gender reveal so we can have time for a rescan if needed.

Is 3D/4D and 5d HD ultrasound safe for me and my baby?

3D/4D and 5d HD Live ultrasound use the same frequency as your doctor uses in the normal 2D ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been used for over 35 years and there have been no proven side effects from its proper use. We strictly adhere to the FDA's standards and only employ trained and registered ARDMS sonographers.

What if I am under 18 years old?

Moms under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the scan in order to be seen.

What if I am a plus sized mom? Will I still get good pictures?

Most of the time yes.  Images may just be more grainy due to the sound waves traveling through more tissue and may not be as clear as the average size mom. Making sure you are well hydrated will help to clear up the pictures.  We have seen that most plus size moms get better 3d/4d/HD pictures after 30 weeks when baby is head down. It may also be a little more difficult to obtain 3d/4d/HD pictures and gender early on.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D/HD ultrasound?

That depends on what you are looking to see. Many moms like coming in a few times during their pregnancy.  Early on you can see the baby as a whole, while later you get to see a more detailed face. The most commonly seen chubby cheek pictures are typically obtained between 28 and 32 weeks when baby has a little more fat. After 34 weeks, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good pictures since the baby is running out of room. However all babies are different and we have been successful in obtaining great images all the way up to 39 weeks.

Are family and friends welcome to join?

Yes! We encourage you to bring your friends and family to share this special moment with you. Children are also welcome. Our ultrasound room can comfortably seat 12 people, but more are welcome if they would like to stand and watch. The ultrasound is shown on our two flat screen televisions for easy viewing.

How long is the 3D/4D/HD ultrasound session?

Depending on the ultrasound package that you select, your session will last between 10 and  40 minutes. However, plan on spending 25 minutes to an hour at our studio so that we can send you home with memories to last a life time. It is best to arrive a few minutes early to fill out your paperwork.

Will my doctor be contacted about my ultrasound?

We do not contact your doctor prior to the scan since this is an elective procedure. If we do see something wrong during the scan, we contact your doctor so they may contact you. We do require however that you currently are under prenatal care and if you have any concerns, you should ask your doctor. Ultrasound technicians in general cannot make a diagnosis or give medical advice.

How can I be sure to get the best possible 3D/4D/HD pictures?

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water in the few weeks prior to your scan. This will help to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear allowing us to obtain better images.  We also recommend drinking a fruit juice (orange juice is highly recommended!!) about 30 minutes prior to your scan to get baby awake and active. (only if your doctor allows it)  Have a full bladder if you are earlier than 16 weeks. We will try our hardest to get you the best images possible but please know there are many things out of the sonographer's control like the baby's position, the mother's body type, amount of amniotic fluid, placenta location, the gestational age of your baby etc.

How can I pay for the ultrasound?

We currently accept all major credit/debit cards and cash. No checks

When do I get my 3D/4D/HD pictures and videos?

Most items are ready 10 minutes after your session has ended. Emailed videos are within a few hours at most. We have a USB option if you'd like your video sooner.

Can you measure my baby to determine weight or due date?

Out of respect for our local doctors we do not measure or give due dates/weight of babies. We can give you a general idea of how far along you are based on how big the baby looks but all measurements must be performed by your doctors office.

Can you tell me if my baby is healthy? Can you send my images to my doctor?

Just like at your doctors office, sonographers can not comment on the health of your baby.  The images we obtain are for keepsake purposes only and are not diagnostic. We can not send images to your doctor.

How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?

We recommend scheduling at least 2 weeks in advance if you are looking for a specific day or time. While we typically can work in last minute appointments, you may not always get the exact time you are wanting if scheduling same day or only a few days in advance. Weekend and late afternoon appointments are booked faster than any other times.

What is your cancelation/no show policy?

We understand things come up and you may need to cancel your appointment. We ask that you try to give at least 2 hours notice so we can open the slot for other moms. Please make sure you call or cancel online. You will receive a confirmation email a few days before. If you do not confirm and do not call to cancel it will count as a no show in our system and a credit card may be required to book any additional appointments. You will be charged 50% of the package price if you have any additional no shows.
